Concierge Health Coaching
The typical method of health coaching is sitting with someone for 45-50 minutes to discuss health concerns. This goes on every week. My approach allows you freedom within the coaching experience. For a modest fee you have unlimited access to me for timely consultation. This can be in the form of face-to-face meetings, email communication, Skype, FaceTime, or by telephone - as often as you need!

The Mindful Health Coach and Patient Advocate
I am a certified Physician Assistant (PA) with over 40 years of clinical practice. I have specialized training in clinical and surgical medicine, mindfulness training, counseling, pastoral care, health and wellness coaching, as well as an integrative and holistic approach to health and wellness. My goal is to become your health advocate, wellness and health coach, and resource for health information. As a PA, my role was often in interpreting the medical jargon in a way that was understandable to the non-medical person. I loved this aspect of my profession!
3 Dimensional Health Coaching
I have an unique approach to health coaching - it's three dimensional! It involves the whole person, utilizes the endocannabinoid system, and is centered on mindfulness. Incidentally, if you purchase CBD oil from my site I will provide you with COMPLEMENTARY health coaching! That's how strongly I feel about this natural supplement!
The Whole Person
One of the problems in modern day medicine is that we have the tendency to compartmentalize people - not just in body versus mind - but in needing to see a cardiologist, gastroenterologist, allergist, ENT specialist, pulmonologist, etc. My approach focuses on the whole person - body, soul, and spirit. Real health must be found in the whole person!
I know that this is a buzz word in our society. But it is so important. Being mindful allows us to fully engage in life on so many different levels - physically, spiritually, emotionally, socially, and in all of our daily activities. "Waking up" is important for our health.
Plant-Based Medical Practice
Medications are known to create numerous side-effects. You’ve heard those infomercials – it takes 30 seconds to tell you what this new medication can do for you… and twice as long to warn you of the side-effects! Hippocrates said ‘let your food be you medicine, and your medicine your food’. Occasionally we need a medication – but we need to be more discerning.
I am an advocate of anti-inflammatory diet, use of supplements such as Tumeric, Astragalus, and Cannabidiol (CBD). This last one is more controversial. There are more than 80 beneficial components in hemp. The good news, it is not does NOT make you high. It has proven to be a natural alternative for many conditions. CBD is involved in homeostasis – balancing the body’s systems. Medications can adversely affect certain aspects of the body creating imbalances. Not so with CBD! In effect, it creates a clearer and more responsive connection between mind and body!
What is Health?

My perspective on health is holistic and transformative. Here is a definition that changed my view of what is a healthy person:

"Healing is an emergent, transformative process of the whole person—physical, mental, social, spiritual, and environmental.

Jonas W., Chez R., Duffy B., Strand D.: Investigating the impact of optimal healing environments. Altern Ther Health Med. 9:36-40 2003

Yes, this is who I am - an integrative practitioner. I believe in transformative coaching within a concierge perspective. That means that I am ALWAYS available. In order to provide this sort of personalized attention I am looking for committed people who truly desire healthy transformation. Whenever you have questions or concerns I will be available.
Please note - I cannot treat or diagnose since I am not a medical doctor and am not seeing you in a medical clinic. However, I can help you ask the right questions, get the right perspective, and move in the right direction! In addition, there are so many outstanding supplements - yet they only should be used with a specific intention. That is where I can help in finding the right supplement for the right person at the right time.
Our Health Care System
We don't have a "HEALTH" care system - we have a "DISEASE" care system!  The typical approach of many medical providers is to write a prescription to treat the disease and consider their job done! Sadly, our medical system is not focused on patients but is focused on 'their' diseases. The assumption is that if we provide the right pill or surgical procedure then the patient is 'fixed' and we can quickly move on to the next patient. Any difficulty in subsequently 'controlling' the disease is the patient's fault!
Medical providers often feel rushed and have limited time with patients. Physicians spend much more time entering data instead of talking directly with patients, according to a study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine (Sept, 2016).
The study further found that physicians only spent 27% of their office day in direct clinical face time with patients and spent 49.2% of their office day on computer documentation. I'm sure you've experienced being with your doctor who is more focused on the computer tablet than you! I'm tired of practicing that way!
No wonder you have lengthy waits. Sadly, our physicians are getting burned out! It's really not their fault! Too many patients, too much paper work, frequent hassles with insurance companies, and not enough time. During my 40+ years I have been appalled to see patients receive inadequate and disconnected health care.
In fact, MEDICAL ERRORS is the THIRD leading cause of death in the USA!
[BMJ 2016; 353 doi: (Published 03 May 2016)].
In other words, sometimes the worst thing you can do is get our type of medical care! In this article, the CDC estimates that estimate there are at least 251,454 deaths due to medical errors annually in the United States. The authors believe the number is actually much higher, as home and nursing home deaths were not counted in that total.
You might think that your health is being managed pretty well. Unfortunately, those over 65 years old when compared to their counterparts in other countries are not doing very well. Our medical system focuses on drugs - not lifestyle! Sadly, drugs do not make you healthy!
Here are some key findings from the survey conducted by The Commonwealth Fund:
  • More than one in three older Americans (36 percent) report having three or more chronic conditions. The next-sickest nation, Canada, is significantly healthier, with just close to one in four Canadians reporting have three or more chronic conditions. The healthiest nation was New Zealand, with only 13 percent of older Kiwis reporting the same.
  • Nearly one in four older Americans (23 percent) report that in the past year, they hadn't visited a doctor when sick, had skipped a recommended test or treatment, hadn't filled a prescription or had skipped medication doses, all because of the cost. The US is far worse than other nations in this area: 5 percent or fewer respondents reported these cost barriers in France, Norway, Sweden and the UK.
  • The US is an outlier on out-of-pocket expenses, with 22 percent of American respondents reporting they had spent $2,000 or more for medical care in the past year.
